I am Ola

My name is Oladayo Sadiku, the creative force behind Olalux Photography, based in Rotterdam and available worldwide.

The name Oladayo comes from my Yoruba heritage in Nigeria and means “wealth has become joy.” It’s more than just a name — it reflects how I see life and my work. Through my lens, I aim to transform moments into lasting joy, capturing people, culture, and emotion in their truest form.

I was born in Nigeria and spent most of my adult life in Germany before relocating to the Netherlands. My photography journey began around ten years ago in Hamburg, when I noticed a lack of powerful, high-quality images that told the vibrant stories of people who looked like me. What started as a passion has grown into a calling — a way to celebrate diversity and identity through storytelling imagery. Before becoming a freelance photographer, I trained and worked as a Logistics Procurement Consultant for the transport of dangerous goods, a field where precision and attention to detail are non-negotiable. I bring that same discipline and care into my photography — every shot is intentional, every composition thoughtful.

Olalux — short for Ola Luxury — stands for pictures without compromise: exceptional quality, creativity, and a luxurious service experience. Whether I’m capturing portraits, corporate events, weddings, or artist presskits, I strive to create imagery that feels refined yet real — authentic storytelling with an elevated touch.

I studied photography at the University of Leiden and have attended numerous professional courses and workshops to refine my craft. My clients describe me as reliable, detail-oriented, and easy to work with. I take pride in making people feel comfortable in front of the camera — and if you don’t love your photos, you don’t pay. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of photographing for companies like Eastman BV and Quaker Houghton BV, as well as cultural and nightlife brands such as Afrovibrations, HOLD, Amapiano Worldwide, Amapiano NL, Jollove, East Africa Connect, Mama Africa and many more
